Yesterday Merijn came home with his report, which was good. 3 Vs of very good two for math related subjects and one for participation. One M meaning that he could be better in technical reading. He has no problem reading books to smaller kids, so I guess he just has to do that more often. And also the books he brings home from the library go back read much more often than a few months ago. Less than a year ago Merijn refused to read Dutch books completely. Also his pronunciation training has stopped because we agreed that Merijn knows how to do it right, if he cares to remember and takes the time to do it. He’ll never become a great chat on the telephone, but I do hope my family will appreciate Merijns leap forward considering his Dutch skills. Next year we have to concentrate more on his Norwegian again, to smoothen the return to the Norwegian school system.
We haven’t done anything special lately, just blending in the background as this little three horned chameleon, who was stroling around the ICRAF campus. We read books,
watched movies shopping of groceries and looking for small nice items for friends and family. Anyone interested in a two meter high wooden giraffe?

Just a quickie uit Holland. Ha ha ha, een wooden giraffe;-) Ik heb nog twee olifanten staan hier!
Ben superdruk met afronden van laatste klussen voordat we op vakantie gaan. Dit jaar de Aosta Vallei in Italie, net op de grens met Frankrijk en Zwitserland. Natuurlijk een vlinderhotspot.
Maar affijn, voordat het zover is, moet ik vandaag nog een lange webtekst afmaken voor een klant. Heel grappig, het is voor een consortium van Nederlanders, Engelsen en Noren. Hing ik ineens weer aan de telefoon met mensen uit Cambridge en uit Noorwegen. Leuk, weer een beetje internationaal.
Zo, nu snel aan de slag, dan 3 weken vakantie:-)))
