Yesterday Merijn has given all kids at school from 7 to 12 years old and invitation to come to his birthday party. This event is going to take place at the NL school in cooperation with another schoolmate who is becoming 8 years by the name of Leo. This evening I am planning to do the mayor part of the essential shopping. Things like a cakeform and a mixer and so. Merijn has ordered carrot cake, so the oven will be used for the first time. Merijn's real birthdate is 18th of November, but he'll will get his pressents at Saturday morning, so he'll realy feels that it will be one whole day birthday.
The birthday gifts with a postmark of 13 October have also arrived, last Friday to be precise. They are still in their wrapping paper displayed on a shelf with the cards. Merijn thinks all boxes contain Lego.
Trine, my PhD supervisor from the UMB in Norway managed to bring Merijn's gift. She was traveling through Nairobi on her way to Mombasa. There her youngest daughter Jenny is working in a childerens orphanage this school semester. Last Monday Trine came by on her way back, and inbetween shifting planes, we managed to have a lovely dinner at the Café des Arts her on the corner from ICRAF, joined by Miyuki and Katja.
My own travel plans for X-mas holiday have also been confirmed and payed. Late on Sunday 21th we are landing in A'dam to return again on Friday morning 9th of January. During this time I will return to my previous Norwegian mobile nr, because my prepaid Kenyan ac
count does not function over the boarder.

Here is a picture of my closest neighbour, who often inspects our activities in the kitchen.
