Merijns Birthday 18 November

Today is Merijns birthday, last Saturday we celebrated it. First Merijn came to my bed with all the pressents that were send over. There after I gave him the mouse, which made his face turn into a question mark. So then he looked under the bed. I managed to make a cup of tea before he was in the middle of personalising the PC. Internet connection was uploaded and an Skype account was made. This made the hours waiting until the party started very short. At the premesis of the NLschool were all the 22 pupils invited to come for a joint celebration of Merijn and Leo who was becoming 8 (in the red Tshirt). The evening before I spend making carrot cake. I also tried to make a choclate cake, but this went very wrong, it was the first time I used the oven, I do not have the recepies in other places than my head and I had to do everything by hand (I realy miss my kitchenaid). The carrot cake was decorated with icing, smarties and candles, all 10. Afterwards the party very little was left, although a few were initially biased in trying it. I guess they also have heared the joke 'Het konijntje dat om worteltjes taart vraagt'. The father of Leo had organised trampolins, jumping castle and acrobrate program. Besides there was an plunging in the swimming pool. We were lucky with the weather, but the water in the pool did not invite me, brrrr. All in all the three hours went by very quickly. At home we ate some of the left overs of the fruit, and Merijn was taking all the gifts in closer inspection.
Today Merijn is off to school with a chocolate cake that I made yesterday.
