Last Saturday was the big emptying the house day. First some of the kitchen items left, and then we had a garden sale of smaller things and cloths. Although I had advertised on several websites, not many came, but most of the small things were sold. So it might be better to advertise more and earlier, and not have it in a weekend many people are stating holidays. One other lesson I learned is that it’s best to get paid in advance. The person who had viewed and wanted the sofa, came later on Saturday without the financing, appologies only. Good that I had stored all emails of all persons interested, so I could call the next in line, who luckily wanted most of it. And the next day the guy helping with the transport bought the remaining two-seater.
Leaving with a container has a great benefit. If nobody wants it (for the right price) pack it. The lady who said she wanted the dining table and chairs did not come to pick it up, so that will be shipped. A lot of things are given away too, much of Merijn and my cloths as well as linen. Why shipping it to Norway, to put it in a cloths collecting container, to be shipped out again, possibly even to Nairobi? The last reminders of the kitchen items I brought to the office, so my colleagues could buy them for very little. The money obtained there I will leave behind for future school fees, that some of my colleagues have great difficulty with to raise.
Now the container is standing in front of the compound, and the last items are packed. By noon I will return the keys to my landlord and say farewell to the staff and Tusker the dog.
Yesterday I also sold my car, and the ownership transfer was signed. Today I will receive the money, in cash, which I will put into my account ASAP. I found a friend who agreed on selling the car in case I did not manage. This knowledge gave me a peace of mind and patience to wait for a good price.

To be continued in Norge?
Goede thuisreis,
Hilsen og klem,
Mireille
Hoi Mireille
