It should be chilly and cloudy, but it is not. So we went to the UN recreation centre for a swim. For me it is a bit cold, but the boys use all the facilities available besides the pool; sauna, hot showers and even a football for half an hour. I abused the opportunity to finish my book. In between some energy refill was needed.
Last Wednesday Merijn played at Kibetts house together with Ryan and Arnon. Kibett is the son of Juf Els. Merijn was not finished playing, when I came to pick him us so I was invited for a very child friendly diner. Kibett is one of the kids living the closest to our place, so that is really convenient. A previous Wednesday I had to pick up Merijn from Toms house, it took me one hour to get there and more than half an hour to get home again, just because of traffic.
On Saturday we were invited to Miyukis home for dinner. She loves cooking and has recently become very fond of making Indian food. This may have been caused by her upstairs neighbour who is Indian. He is moving out now though, let see what influences the new neighbour will have on our culinary experiences at Miyukis place
The books I have been reading lately were a gift from an expat leaving called Nicky de Jong. Now his youngest daughter had finished the German school he had decided to return to Europe after 20 years. Most of the Dutch books he had were kids books which I will bring to the Dutch school, but Merijn found a book written by Paul van Loon, which he read during our Saturday dinner party. Merijn loves a little horror.
