Saturday 29th December St. Nicolaas visits NLschool

At the NL school St Nicolaas had was announced to come early on Saturday and there were many people that had come, also that are not going to NL school (jet). Waiting for the Sint there was served coffee and so on with speculaas and banket. Some Pieten arrived throwing around pepernoten and after a Piet dressed as Sint on a brown horse was welcomed by the singing children, the real Sint came on a white pony. A few very children of about 3 years from mixed marriage were screaming when a up and down jumping Piet tried to give them some peprnoten. The welcoming the Sint had a personal talk with each kid, this was time consuming, but entertaining. There were kroketten, erwetesoep and bread with cheese. After a few hours the Sint was ready to depart accompanied by singing children ‘dag Sinterklaasje’ and a large box full with gifts was lifted by Pieten from a class room. Every gift came with a chocolate syllable. Friends showed each other what they got. Merijn received an alarm clock. Waking up all the house every morning.
